Established in 2001, the Dot NAME generic domain name extension is the single TLD meant for personal sites only. These domain names can include personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other designations people are popular by. At first, only third-level registrations were permitted, so if you wanted to buy john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Existing third-level names remained active.

You will have the chance to alter the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already registered domain to our company if you obtain its EPP transfer key from the present domain registrar and we will renew it when the transfer has been completed. There are no specific conditions on who can reserve a .NAME domain, but in order to keep the objective behind its establishment alive, the Registry may check who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration could be challenged.
