A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the emails sent to nonexistent email addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and in this way you will never miss emails because the other side has an outdated email address or has made a typographical error. The drawback of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of spam, but this problem can be solved using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also essential to know that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound messages to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Web Hosting

In case you have a cloud web hosting with our company and you would like to enable the catch-all feature for a certain mailbox that you have in the account, it’ll take literally just a single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to accomplish this. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each email address that you have set up under any domain name registered in your account. You can choose one address per domain by clicking the respective button. This will enable the feature instantly, so all emails sent to misspelled addresses will be delivered there. Clicking on the button again will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got activated email forwarding, our system will show a warning message and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature till you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply select another mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all option can be activated without effort in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you’ve set up with the domain names hosted in the account will be listed in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will find a tiny icon conveniently located right next to each one. With only a click of the mouse, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your preference on the condition that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain with the option already activated and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and activate this option through the contextual menu that will show up. In case any of the conditions for creating a catch-all mailbox is not matched, our system will notify you, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
